In this intro class you'll learn how to coax color from plants as you witness nature and the planned urban environment interacting together on watercolor paper. Make a one of a kind piece of art from a few simple foraged ingredients: petals, leaves and found urban metals. Leave the class with some basic printing and surface design techniques + tips and tricks for further exploration on your own at home.

What’s the cost?

Workshop fee is $45.

Who is the instructor?

Paige St-Pierre is a Seattle based textile artist, zero waste advocate and sustainable clothing specialist on

a mission to normalize textile repair and reuse. She devotes her time to various textile arts; primarily

sewing, slow stitching, natural dyeing with plants and flowers and ink making. When not making

wearable art for her upcycle business, she teaches mending, slow stitching and upcycling workshops in

the greater Seattle area. She is a certified Zero Waste Associate with Zero Waste USA. She has a degree

in Apparel Design from Seattle Central College, a Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature,

and a Master’s in Teaching both from the University of Washington. Keep up with her latest endeavors

Space:

Summit Selvage is located on the corner of 12th Ave and Pike St in Capitol Hill, Seattle. The entrance door will be propped open on the 12th Ave side. The space is down the stairs and the last door on your left. The basement is shared with dance studios, and has unisex bathrooms on the third floor. Parking is a big challenge, but luckily we're 1 block from the 2, 12, and 11 bus stops, as well as .5 miles from the lightrail station.

Covid: Masks and vax are currently recommended. Subject to change before class.
