Sewing 101: Mending
Learn machine and hand sewing techniques for fixing your clothes & bags! We'll do samples of a few types of mending then have open project time to do some repairs.

About:
The first two hours of class will cover common repairs for your clothing and bags, then bring a project for the last hour to work on with your new skills! Perfect for beginners or those wanting a refresher

-Darning denim (perfect for big wear-out spots)
-Split seams
-Basic alterations
-Hemming
Hand Sewing:
-Buttons
-Split Seams
-Patches
-Blanket stitch for frayed hems (if we have time!)

Space:
Summit Selvage is located on the corner of 12th Ave and Pike St in Capitol Hill, Seattle. The entrance door will be propped open on the 12th Ave side. The space is down the stairs and the last door on your left. The basement is shared with dance studios, and has unisex bathrooms on the third floor. Parking is a big challenge, but luckily we're 1 block from the 2, 12, and 11 bus stops, as well as .5 miles from the lightrail station.
