About the Event

We invite your inner child to personalize and decorate your own affirmation mirror! You will pick 1 of 4 premade affirmation mirrors, then adorn it with paint and stickers! We hope this experience will bring you joy and continued healing as you practice self-acceptance and self-love with your new mirror at home!

Materials: All materials are provided (mirrors with vinyl affirmation, acrylic paint, brushes, stickers!) Students can bring their own stickers, but an assortment is provided.

Artist bio:

Heidi Grace Acuña (they/she) is a Fil-Am artist from O’ahu. Heidi uses ceramic, printmaking, photography, and fibers, to address identity, culture, community, and mental illness. Heidi is a 2022 recipient of the Edwin T. Pratt Scholarship and had their first solo show (LUSH) at Western Washington University. Heidi is a teaching artist who’s worked with Bellevue Arts Museum, The Feels Foundation, Gage Academy and Tacoma Sunday Market to teach people of all ages. As a stylist, they’ve worked with Verizon and Etheric Vintage. In 2020, they established their sustainable, genderless fashion brand, Hybrid Honey. Heidi is a founder, costumer, and soft-sculpture artist for QT Arts Collective, House of Kilig. Heidi lives and works in Seattle.

Space:

Summit Selvage is located on the corner of 12th Ave and Pike St in Capitol Hill, Seattle. The entrance door will be propped open on the 12th Ave side. The space is down the stairs and the last door on your left. The basement is shared with dance studios, and has unisex bathrooms on the third floor. Parking is a big challenge, but luckily we're 1 block from the 2, 12, and 11 bus stops, as well as .5 miles from the lightrail station.

Masks: Masks are not required, but highly encouraged
