Fabric
I'll have some upcycled fabrics for you to chose from at the studio in neutrals and prints! If you'd prefer to chose your own fabric, you'll need:
-1 yd of fabric for the outside & 1 yd for the inside
Suggested fabrics: Midweight Denim, velveteen, cotton, twill, corduroy, satin with some body to it
This could be a fun way to use a curtain or large tablecloth too! Seattel Recreative and thrift stores are great places to find textiles for reuse.
-2 yards of 1/4"-3/8" cord or ribbon
-2 yards of bias tape
Session 1: Use a class-provided sewing pattern to cut out your choice of materials. Feel free to bring your own material, or choose from some upcycled options at the studio. Seattle Recreative is a great place to get secondhand fabric. Thrift stores also have a great selection of linens and fabrics that'd be great for jackets (curtains, lightweight blanket, tablecloths, fabric yardage). We'll also iron on some interfacing to stabilize seams. Begin to sew seams together
Session 2: Finish sewing seams togther and attach at top neckline
Session 3: Finish with binding & grommets
